The company experienced growth over the years before acquiring the regional supplier of Manweb in the year 1995. In the year 2006, The Company became part of the Iberdrola Group, a utility company based in Spain. The company has been supplying green energy over the years. Scottish Power believes in greener energies and changing the world into a better place. They have invested heavily in green projects while at the same time helping their customers become more efficient in the usage of energy. Apart from participating in various environmental courses, Scottish Power have partnered with the Cancer Research with the aim of raising over 3 million in the period of 3 years. The partnerships that began in 2011 seeks to help cancer victims who sign for the program get treatment at a fixed price. The Company donates 10 percent to the Cancer Research while still maintaining a monthly contribution to every customer remaining on the tariff. All this is aimed at providing an affordable Cancer treatment options to patients and making a positive impact on the community. Their Partnership with the Cancer Research has further been renewed for three more years generating over six million up to now. They remain an active participant in activities that improve the lives of people in the community.
